1/4 cup solid shortening or bacon drippings 1/8 cup sugar 8 ounces powdered boric acid 1/2 cup flour 1/2 of a small onion, chopped (optional) Water Cream together the shortening and sugar in a bowl. In another bowl, mix the boric acid, flour and chopped onion (if using). Add this to the shortening mixture and blend. Now add just enough water to form a soft dough. Shape the soft dough into small balls and place several in small, cheap plastic bags (leave bags open so the dough won’t dry out so quickly).
