Home and Garden Show closes with ‘wild’ plant sale
“This year, we had a full year to prepare and we produced a high quality show that people are used to with high quality gardens, lots of flowers, lots of floral features and I think there is no question that people got t michael kors heir money’s worth.”
Attendance for this year’s event was down about 15 percent; the decrease can most likely be attributed to bad weather during the opening weekend, Fassnacht said.
“The plant sale is absolutely wild,” Fassnacht said. “We’re finding a lot of people have become smart over the years and are striking deals before the show’s over. So this year, there doesn’t appear to be as many people here (for the plant sale) because a lot of the stuff has already been pre sold.”
Dozens of people came equipped with baskets, bags and carts, ready to take away their favorite plants, flowers and various other outdoor materials.
Patty Kolbow of Mentor was packing multiple bags with hydrangeas that she was purchasing.
“I just wanted to come and pick up good prices and buy some flowers,” she said. “I wanted to get some michael kors things for my garden, and we’re doing some home improvement as well.”
Eastlake r michael kors esident Karen Kelly goes to the Home and Garden Show every year, but she had never been to the closing plant sale.
“We just came to look around and see the different vendors, and we settled on some tulips,” she said. “We enjoy coming to the show each year.”
Lyn Tomaszweski of Cleveland had never been to the Home and Garden Show but decided to attend Sunday. When she heard about the clos michael kors ing plant sale, she stuck around with her husband, Jim.
